IBM watsonx.ai

Customer data stays private to the account

IBM says customer data on watsonx.ai is accessible only to the customer account, is used to train only that customer's models, and is never accessible or used by IBM or any other organisation.

Training use

Prompting a foundation model does not train that foundation model. Customer data and models created in the account remain private to the account under the cited FAQ.

How to opt out

No opt-out is required for the stated account-isolation baseline. Customers still choose which models, projects, tuning jobs, and deployment spaces to enable.

Private content

IBM documents dedicated encrypted storage for project and catalog assets. Governance, residency, and deployment topology still need separate review for regulated workloads.

Retention

The FAQ emphasises account privacy and encryption more than one universal retention period for every watsonx.ai feature and log path.

Human review

The reviewed FAQ does not provide one short human-review statement covering every support and safety path.
