PSF version history

All versions of the Production Safety Framework are published and archived here. Certifications issued under a given version remain valid and are noted on the certificate. Use how to cite for attribution: cite PSF v1.1 (2026) for new work; cite PSF v1.0 (2024) when referring to assessments or publications explicitly tied to that release.

PSF v1.1

Current
April 2026

Normative update to the eight-domain framework (PSF-1 through PSF-8). Strengthens guidance for multi-model pipelines, agentic and tool-using workflows, EU AI Act mapping alongside GDPR, and regulatory posture alongside vendor contracts — without changing domain structure or criterion count.

What is included
PSF-4 Observability: logging and drift expectations extended to multi-hop and multi-model chains
PSF-6 Human Oversight: explicit bounded autonomy, approval gates, and kill-switch / circuit-stop behaviour for agentic systems
PSF-3 Data Protection: EU AI Act deployer/provider relationship documented alongside GDPR legal basis
PSF-8 Vendor Resilience: regulatory and jurisdictional posture recorded with SLAs and DPAs
Public /standard pages reconciled to the same PSF-1…8 taxonomy as the full criteria document

PSF v1.0

Superseded
2024

Initial public release of the Production Safety Framework. Eight domains (Input Governance, Output Validation, Data Protection, Observability, Deployment Safety, Human Oversight, Security, and Vendor Resilience) with forty published criteria. Superseded by PSF v1.1; remains the valid reference for certifications and publications dated to v1.0.

What was included
Initial publication — eight domains (PSF-1…PSF-8), 40 criteria
Competency levels defined for each domain (Foundational, Practitioner, Advanced)
AIDA and CPAP examination content aligned to domain weightings
